This site is devoted to a ten year (so far!) obsession with the megaliths of the British Isles. I have attempted to cover slightly less well known monuments which do not occur frequently amongst the web sites I have visited. However, the most popular are often thus for a very good reason, so there is overlap (especially since I've just been to Orkney!!) As is apparent below, the sites are arranged geographically. As a consequence of living in Wales and having Irish ancestry, there is an understandable bias in the areas covered. I have attempted to give some idea of accessibility and impressiveness (not always the bigger the better!). Some sites included here are on private land. Whatever your views on open access, please respect land ownership: from bitter experience it makes life easier for visitors after you!
